Welcome to Orientation! We would like to acknowledge the land we are on. The Portland Metro area rests on traditional village sites of the Multnomah, Wasco, Cowlitz, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Bands of Chinook, Tualatin, Kalapuya, Molalla and many other tribes who made their homes along the Columbia River. Today peoples from these bands have become part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz, as well as the Chinook and Cowlitz Nations. It is important to acknowledge the ancestors of this place and to recognize that we are here because of the sacrifices forced upon them. In remembering these communities, we honor their legacy, their lives, and their descendants.

If you have any questions throughout the day, our check in Smith Memorial Student Union (Ballroom, 355) will remain open for the entirety of the program.

New Student Programs
Campus Visits Coordinator
I was born in Guerrero, Mexico and was raised in Southern California and Aloha, Oregon. After graduating from Aloha High School, I attended Portland Community College, before transferring to PSU. I am a proud Portland State alumna, having received both my undergraduate degree and graduate degree from Portland State. For me, navigating higher education as a first-generation, undocumented and DACA student was not an easy journey. The challenges undocumented students face to obtain a college education appear immense. Do not forget, your education is part of your resistance. You can and you will achieve your academic and career goals. I very much look forward to working with you as you engage in the college application process and help you discover the right fit at Portland State.
